ESC Engineering were engaged by Decmil to deliver the complete design and documentation for the Kwinana Lithium Mine non-process infrastructure site complex.

The project consisted of several buildings and associated site power/communications infrastructure including a laboratory building, workshop, warehouse, administration building and control building.

ESC Engineering undertook the full design of this large complex comprising of the power reticulation and distribution, lighting, fire detection, security, and ICT systems.

The power distribution system for the project required connection to two separate LV supplies on the site and in ground reticulation of submain cables over significant distances.

All final equipment for each of the buildings were meticulously modelled in PowerCad5 software to ensure correct cable sizing, protective device selection and fault protection settings were accurately ascertained.

Our unique approach to design which encompasses our self-developed design procedures allowed us to deliver this large and complex project in only a matter of months for an immediate start on site by the project construction teams.
