Electrical fault investigation on high rise vertical transport system

ESC Engineering were contacted by an existing client who was experiencing an unexplained power issue whereby when the newly installed fire pumps were activated during their weekly test regime, the entire vertical transportation system would shut down for a number of minutes resulting in much distress for any passengers.

ESC Engineering were required to review all the existing building electrical drawings and the specifications of the equipment recently installed. We also engaged with onsite electricians to undergo testing of the various systems to provide a complete picture of what was causing the issue.

Following a detailed review of all available information, we were able to determine the issue and propose a solution which was both cost effective and could be installed within a timely manner to ensure no further disruption.

“Focus Building engaged ESC Engineering to overcome a challenging technical issue on an operating environment with many unknown variables and restrictions. ESC were extremely thorough, collaborative and knowledgeable. Their approach was considerate of all stakeholders, issues and objectives. Their advice resulted in a cost and time effective solution with minimal impact to the operating environment.

I look forward to working with them in the future.” David Welsh – Focus Building Company
